The first section of National Trail “22” starts from Agoriani in Parnassos.

The route begins in Agoriani, on Mount Parnassos, and follows a relatively complex network of dirt roads and trails towards Souvala. A little attention is required with navigation during this initial section, as the route winds between different trail passages and forest roads.
The trail then enters a beautiful stretch of dense fir forest, where the route becomes more straightforward and hikers can enjoy the characteristic mountain scenery of Parnassos. A little further on, it passes by Avgeris Well, a distinctive landmark along the route. From here, a trail branches off to the right towards Ano Souvala.
From this point, the route continues downhill through dense Mediterranean scrubland, eventually reaching Agia Eleousa and the springs of the Boeotian Cephissus River. From here, a narrow paved road gradually climbs towards the village, leading to the main square of Souvala and marking the completion of this first section of the trail.
A route of constantly changing scenery and vegetation, taking hikers from the fir forests and mountain slopes of Parnassos to the springs of the Boeotian Cephissus and, finally, to the traditional mountain village of Souvala.
